UFC Featherweight Arnold Allen joins Blockasset — Announcement
One of MMA’s quickest rising stars is joining the Blockasset roster. England’s Arnold Allen will be a part of the growing community of athletes partnering with Blockasset, with an NFT collection in the works with Arnold along with his own athlete token that will be coming out.
With a record of 17–1, Arnold Allen sits at #7 in the UFC featherweight rankings. He is on the cusp of earning a title shot, and a win at UFC London on March 19th against a formidable opponent in Dan Hooker would most likely set him up with a huge title-eliminator fight down the line in 2022.
Arnold’s Background
Born and raised in Suffolk, England, Almighty Arnold Allen grew up around athletics. His father used to compete in strongman competitions lifting weights, one reason behind why Almighty is so strong and powerful inside the octagon. When he was 18 years old, Arnold made his MMA debut in London, winning by knockout. He would go 9–1, with a string of fights in the Cage Warriors promotion, before signing with the UFC in 2015.
His debut against Alan Omer took place in Germany. Arnold would impress everyone watching, winning by spectacular submission and also earning performance of the night bonus. Allen would then get to fight in his home country of England 4 times in a row for the UFC, winning each fight along the way, racking up another performance bonus in the process.
In his American debut against Gilbert Melendez in Las Vegas, Allen won via decision, as well as his fight with Nik Lentz in January 2020. Next for him was the biggest test of his career, Sodiq Yusuff. The fight took place on ABC, only the second UFC fight card on the network channel ever. Allen defeated Yusuff by decision after knocking him down twice.
After defeating Yusuff, Allen found out he broke his hand and would have to wait to recover fully before returning to fighting. While recovering from his injury, it was announced the UFC was going to return to London for Fight Night on March 19, the first time in years that a crowd will be in attendance In England for a fight. Arnold will be a part of it, as Almighty will take on Dan Hooker, who is going down in weight class from lightweight after taking on the best in the world in that division the past few years.
Riding the wave of a 10 fight winning streak, with only 1 loss overall in his career, Arnold Allen is on a mission to cement himself as one of the featherweight division’s elite fighters.
