UFC star Leon Edwards to launch the first performance-based NFT range with Blockasset
UFC Welterweight Leon Edwards is to become the first athlete to release a performance-based NFT collection in partnership with Blockasset.
The innovative digital collectables will come complete with trading card utilities, which correlate with real-world performance. So, the benefits to the holder can change based on the athlete’s career.
Speaking ahead of his upcoming UFC Championship fight against Kamaru Usman, Edwards said, “It’s great to be working with Blockasset, using modern technology to help reward my fans. I’m confident the first of those rewards will arrive when I become UFC Champion in Salt Lake City”.
With the collection limited to just 500 items, Edwards’ NFTs are sure to be a hit with UFC fans. However, the benefits and utility of this range will appeal to the wider NFT community, too.
Edwards’ NFT range will pay performance-related $BLOCK bonuses following the British athlete’s winning fights, and holders will accrue 5 $ASSET each day their NFT is staked. Users’ $ASSET tokens can then be used to access unique opportunities and items with Blockasset’s growing roster of talent.

Edwards’ NFT range will be his first Blockasset product release, but further initiatives will follow. Blockasset’s partnership with the Paradigm Sports athlete will also see Edwards release $LEON, his very own athlete token.
